Bob Fulton, Gamecock Announcing Legend!

Bob Fulton, Gamecock Announcing Legend!

We had fun framing this original colored pencil of legendary Gamecocks sports announcer Bob Fulton! This piece is hanging on campus somewhere, Go Cocks!

Frame Andy Friedman Original!

Frame Andy Friedman Original!

Americana music guru Uncle Gram recently retired from the radio airwaves of WUSC-FM 90.5. He had many in studio guests over the years, including the musician and visual artist Andy Friedman. Andy saw fit to honor Uncle Gram with this pen and ink portrait! We were lucky to frame it, we chose black mats and an Italian hand-finished black moulding with repeating circular design (that we decided looks a bit like a 33 1/3 rpm album!) We raised the glass off the art with hidden spacers. This piece measures about 14″ square.

Charleston Nine by Ernest Lee

Charleston Nine by Ernest Lee

A somber piece of folk art, nine individual portraits as one by South Carolina artist Ernest Lee. This large painting (six feet by five feet) is stretched canvas in a 3″ walnut stained moulding. Ernest is donating this piece to Mother Emanuel Church in Charleston. Peace to all.

Framed Wedding Photos!

These are lovely images from a wedding. We used black suede mats and an ornate silver frame. Fantastic!

Framed Charcoal Portrait!

Framed Charcoal Portrait!

Recently we were charged with framing this charcoal portrait of a customer’s child. This portrait was done in Jamaica and our customer wanted to use the colors of the Jamaican flag in the matting somehow. With a black and white piece we are hesitant to add color, but we thought we could get them into the package somehow. We ended up using the red, yellow and green as 1/8″ each bottom mats, making the mat a quadruple mat. The black frame and black top mat keep the piece easy on the eye! If you need a Columbia frame shop to offer excellent suggestions for your framing project give us a call!

Puppy Portrait!

Puppy Portrait!

Everyone loves puppy pics! Especially wen they are framed in hand-finished Italian mouldings! This large photo portrait was printed on canvas and we framed it in a 2″ black hand-finished Italian moulding. Cute!

Signed Ray Tanner Poster!

Signed Ray Tanner Poster!

This is a very interesting piece, a photo collage portrait of University of South Carolina Gamecocks former baseball coach (now athletic director) Ray Tanner done in a clever style of using hundreds of tiny photos to come together as one image. Look closely! We matted it in a black suede and used the “gamecock” style frame. The poster itself measures 18″ x 24″, overall the frame is about 27″ x 33″. Go Cocks!

Fabulous Old Portrait!

Fabulous Old Portrait!

Recently we framed this old portrait, it is tiny and printed on some sort of porcelain! The porcelain only measures about 3″ x 4″ (the entire frame only measures about 7″ x 8″!) so we used a small bluish linen mat and a small Italian moulding that has a repeating design. We raised the portrait from the mat ever so slightly and used spacers to keep the glass from touching. Exquisite!

We framed this pair of oil portraits recently. We used a 3″ gold moulding that has a repeating design. Classic!
