Which Way?

Which Way?

This handmade paper art piece presented a challenge, there was no signature to let us know which way was up or down! We decided we liked it up AND down, and both sideways, too. Plus, it worked as a diamond shape, too. We attached the wiring on the back to allow the customer to hang it eight different ways! We framed it in a contemporary deep silver. This one is fun!

This dynamic abstract mixed media print by Santa Fe artist Aura Dez is matted in a warm brown acid-free cotton and framed in a thin, sleek gold. This piece measures about 22″ by 30″.

Framed Whimsical Dogs by Melinda Edwards!

Framed Whimsical Dogs by Melinda Edwards!

This fun piece was created by Columbia native (now creating her art in Asheville) Melinda Edwards. She used mixed media on paper, shearing the edges of the paper. We raised the art with a hidden layer of acid-free foam board to enhance the deckling of the sheared edges. We then used a 7/8″ wide scalloped black moulding. This piece measures about 14″ by 10″.

Framed Flour Sack! (That’s Right…)

Framed Flour Sack! (That’s Right…)

We hand stitched this flour sack onto an acid free backing board and used hidden spacers to keep the glass off the bag. We used a hand finished distressed 1 1/4″ moulding manufactured in Columbia SC by the good folks at Southwinds Molding! All components are Made in the USA! This piece measures about 15″ x 22″.

Floater Frame Raccoon Collage!

Floater Frame Raccoon Collage!

This is a neat piece, a collage using different papers made into a raccoon by North Carolina artist Wendy Cordwell. We used a solid genuine walnut floater frame for it, with a 5/8″ offset. This piece measures about 14″ square. Floater frames are a neat way to display your art, very contemporary!

Elegant Still Life Floral!

We used an ornate gold frame and plain white mats with a gold filet in this framing job. The colors leap out from the stark surroundings! Priced to sell at $200. This piece measures about 22″ 28″.

Happy Valentines Day!

Happy Valentines Day!

This is an interesting piece we framed. It is made from an actual box of chocolates so we framed it in a black shadowbox. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Paul Kaufmann Abstract!

Paul Kaufmann Abstract!

One of our favorite people in Columbia is Paul Kaufmann. Artist, Actor, Instructor, Doer of Good Deeds. His abstracts are always bold and playful, loose and tight. Colors seem to bend and meld, lines approaching and departing. Here is one such example, it measures ~ 22″ x 30″. Come see this one and many more at Elite Framing in Columbia’s 5 Pts shopping district.
