Framed Watercolor of House!

Framed Watercolor of House!

When moving from their childhood home these folks had the foresight to commission a local artist to capture their home in a watercolor. We matted it in a neutral linen and used a traditional wood panel moulding with gold accents. This piece measures about 30″ wide. Lovely!

This large (38″ by 30″) abstract watercolor is by Columbia, SC artist Paul Kaufmann. We used a white 8-ply archival mat and a contemporary 1 1/4″ gold frame. This is part of Paul’s Manhattan series and, fittingly, will reside on the Upper East side! If you are searching for local, original and dynamic artwork consider Paul Kaufmann’s works. We love oysters and we love watercolors. We really love oyster watercolors! This delightful little watercolor is by local artist Mary Katherine Wilcox. We put a neutral white mat on it and a hand finished Italian black olive wood frame. This piece measures abut 16″ by 12″. Now I’m all hungry.

Framed Long Island 1950s Watercolours!

Framed Long Island 1950s Watercolours!

These fabulous watercolours were brought in by the great-granddaughter of the artist, she had inherited them. They are wonderful! The artist used a palette with strong eggplants and greys. We used a white museum quality double mat and a 7/8″ wide silver frame. We really enjoyed these pieces while they were in the shop! If you have museum quality framing needs contact us at Elite Framing in Columbia’s Five Points shopping and entertainment district.

Framed Antique Watercolor!

Framed Antique Watercolor!

This nice old watercolor of a homestead in rural SC was suffering in it’s old frame, complete with nasty old acidic mats and cardboard (yuck!)
We saved it, replacing all of the old mats and backing boards with acid-free versions. We also put a great 2″ wide distressed Italian silverish moulding on it! The moulding seems to mirror the plank siding of the old house. Fantastic!

Figurative Painting by Savannah! Museum Quality

Figurative Painting by Savannah! Museum Quality

Local artist Savannah painted this piece back in the 70s during her Manhattan period. The inks are a soft purple/brown and the efficiency used in creating this piece of art is admirable. It is everything it needs to be and nothing more! Lovely! We stayed true to the simplicity with a stark 8ply cotton museum mat and use a contoured clean brown Italian hand finished frame. This piece measures about 20″ by 28″.

Framed Watercolor!

Framed Watercolor!

Here is a nicely framed watercolor. We maintained the minimalist feel of the art with a simple and austere frame, a pewterish hand-finished Italian job. We floated the art on the mat to show off the deckled paper edges and raised the glass with hidden spacers. This small piece (the frame measures about 7″ x 16″) is elegant!
